Established in 1952, the Hope Volunteer Fire Department dedicates countless hours to training to better serve and protect the citizens of Hope.
In addition to responding to more than 50 emergencies on average per year, we also dedicate personal time and effort to maintaining equipment, meeting state and federal requirements, fire prevention education, and attending business meetings vital to the organization.
Based on the current 24 non-paid volunteer members, we estimate over 4,200 volunteer hours per year are donated to the Town of Hope. While serving to protect the 1,536 citizens of Hope, the Hope Volunteer Fire Department also responds to mutual aid requests from the surrounding communities of Appleton, Camden, Rockport, Lincolnville, and Union.
